Nitrogen, nickel and graphene oxide doped carbon xerogel as an active electrode of an electrochemical capacitor

Abstract N-, Ni-, and graphene oxide (GO)-doped carbon xerogel were synthesized from melamine-resorcinol-formaldehyde gels by drying followed pyrolysis at 950 °C. The mass of nickel GO in xerogel, formed after carbonization was 5 1%, respectively. obtained product characterized scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS), X-ray diffraction (XRD) Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). characteristics completed measurements BET specific surface area as well pore distribution. For doped a decrease the about 2% compared to unmodified observed with simultaneous increase cumulative volume average diameter 50 32%, Electrochemical properties evaluated 6 M KOH cyclic voltammetry (CV) galvanostatic modes. It revealed, that highest capacitance 222 Fg −1 reached for N-Ni-GO-doped during process charge-discharge (GCD). Moreover, this sample also exhibited 100% stability GCD 98% 3000 cycling tests.
